Welcome to the Augustus Society web site.
The Augustus Society is a nonprofit organization of Las Vegas professional men and women of Italian American heritage, dedicated to improving the education, well-being, and positive image of Italian Americans.
The Mission of the Augustus Society is to provide college scholarships to needy Italian-American students in Clark County with academic abilities; assist Italian-American families or individuals with personal hardships, and continuously promote a positive image of Italian-Americans. Formed in 1983, the society has awarded over 450 scholarships and awards, totaling nearly $750,000 in funds awarded.

Las Vegas Italian Earthquake Relief Fund

In response to a 6.3 magnitude earthquake that hit L'Aquil, Italy April 6, 2009, entertainer Nelson Sardelli called together and organized the Las Vegas Italian Earthquake Relief Fund.
The organization, co-sponsored with the Augustus Society of Nevada, and the Orleans Hotel and Casino hosted the show "An Affair of the Heart....to Italy with Love" at the Orleans Hotel and Casino showroom on May 17, 2009.
Many national and local entertainers donated their time to raise money to assist the survivors of this tragedy. The devastation has a death toll climbing to near 300 and has left thousands homeless.
Honorary Vice-Consul of Italy for the State of Nevada Stephano Ripamonti, attended the organization meeting and is assisting in efforts to direct the funds raised to the areas most needed.
Vincent Ciminise, President of the Bank of Las Vegas and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Augustus Society has opened a separate bank account and is the treasurer of the Las Vegas Italian Earthquake Relief Fund.
